  thanks to由于

辨析一:because of与because
辨析二:because of,owing to,due to,on account of,as a(the) result of与thanks to
(1)because of意为“因为,由于”。
Because of illness, the boy did not go to schoo1.
◆ They had to stay at home because of a heavy rain.
His stay at home was because of the rain. 但在“He stayed at home;this was because of the rain.
Owing to my absence, they had to put off the class meeting till next week.
◆ Xiao Wang could not come to the ball, owing to a bad cold.
He was injured due to(owing to)a car accident.
(4)on account of意为“因……
The train arrived late on account of a heavy snow.
(5)as a(the)result of意为“由于……
As a result of the war the lives of many people were lost.
Thanks to your help,I passed the test.
◆ Thanks to your rotten idea,we went the long way.
